Mixin Mingle - McHenry
I like long strolls on the riverwalk, the romance of classic automobiles and the drive-in.
Let your heart get swept away by my historic charm and the way I wear Golden Age glamour. Just outside my doors is the riverwalk, connecting the distinct downtown neighborhoods into a vibrant community hub where sidewalk sales, decadent dining and lapping waves wait around every corner. McHenry is home to one of the oldest drive-in movie theaters in the world, so you’ll feel your heart tugged back to 1950s Hollywood when you’re standing under my stars.
My hometown nickname is “The Heart of the Fox”.
Born out of the Illinois prairie frontier, McHenry’s agricultural roots have blossomed into a nature lover’s paradise. You’ll find my hometown heart in state parks greener than The Emerald City, watch dizzying fun at the roller rink, and get your bounty from my farm-stands. While you’re sitting in my gazebo, you might even spot a classic car in the distance that reminds you of the history this place holds.
My best feature?
I love showing off my waterfront setting, so cameras bring out the ham in me. With this kind of picturesque backdrop, not only will you create an affair to remember, but everyone will remember you for being the one who hosted it.
My perfect party match:
Someone who likes getting dressed up for a swanky affair and is looking for a roomy, communal space to bring loved ones together. I can house anything from intriguing murder mystery parties, stylish wedding receptions, and fundraisers that razzle-dazzle. Let’s make memories together. (I can be romantic like that.)
What we've got you covered for:
Table seating for roughly 150 guests or 465 open space/standing. Or, approximately 52 zebras if you’re throwing a Jumanji-themed birthday party. (For the record: Please don’t actually show up with zebras.) I’ve got 2 handicap accessible washrooms and a swoon-worthy gazebo overlooking the McHenry Riverwalk.
